Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh): A six-feet long crocodile was spotted in a residential area in Ashoknagar on Monday.

The crocodile kept slipping back into the water. Later, the Forest Department was informed.

According to information, the crocodile was spotted in Paliwal Colony of Mungaoli town, creating panic among residents.

Seeing a large crocodile in a residential area scared the locals, who quickly informed the Nagar Parishad.

The Nagar Parishad team reached the spot, but due to the crocodile's large size and water collected in the area, they could not catch it.

The crocodile kept slipping back into the water. Later, the Forest Department was informed.

Deputy Ranger Vinita Sahu arrived with her team. Mungaoli Police Station Incharge Joginder Singh Yadav also reached the location to assist. The forest team then started a rescue operation.

Even with limited resources, the team used ropes and wooden sticks and finally managed to catch the crocodile, which was around 6 feet long. The rescue took nearly two hours.

The crocodile was tied with ropes and safely released into the Betwa River.

Locals believe that the crocodile may have entered the colony through nearby fields.

A few days ago, another crocodile was seen in a nearby part of the same area, but it disappeared into the water and was not found later.
