Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A minor boy suffered a severe electric shock while he was removing a broken electric wire on a water-clogged road in Indore. The incident took place in Indore’s Chandan Nagar area on Sunday evening.
A video of the entire incident was captured, in which the boy can be seen suffering an electric shock while trying to remove a wire. The shock was so intense that he could not stand, and he fell into the rainwater on road. Locals quickly gathered at the spot to help him. One of them was even seen using a broom, which acts as an insulator against electric flow, to pull the boy out.

The boy was trying to move a broken electric wire when he got electrocuted. He was seen struggling in the water before locals rushed to save him.
He was first taken to the district hospital and later shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
The incident happened in Ahmed Nagar Bank area of Chandan Nagar.
According to locals, heavy rainfall led to clogged roads. Two minors were playing in the water on the road when one of them came in contact with a broken live wire.
The boy got severely shocked and was injured. Residents quickly rescued him and sent him to the hospital.
Local people blamed the electricity company and the municipal corporation for the incident. They said that even a short spell of rain causes waterlogging in the area.
The power company often shuts down electricity during rains but does not repair broken cables or loose wires hanging from poles.
Residents complained that such accidents have become frequent due to poor maintenance by the civic body.
