Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A major theft took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, where thieves made away with gold, silver jewelry and cash worth over ₹25 lakh, as reported by police on Sunday.
According to information, the incident took place at House No. 7, Peptic Town, Sector-4 in Chhatarpur. The day when the thieves carried out their heist, the victim family wasn’t home.
The family had gone to Vrindavan Dham, and when they returned, they were shocked to find their locker empty and the house looted.

Among the stolen valuables were 20 Tolas (≈ 233 grams) of gold jewelry including necklaces, several earrings, bangles, mangalsutra and others.
Additionally, there were around 15 silver anklets, plates, bowls, idols of deities, coins, etc. ₹40k in cash was also looted in the incident.
Regarding the matter, the victim family has lodged a complaint.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of BNS and started an investigation.

Second theft in 2 days
The incident has created a panic in the locality and such incidents are being reported frequently in the state at present.
Just 2 days ago, on August 15, a ₹ 61.17 lakh was looted at gun-point from a cash van in Chhatarpur. After this IG Sagar has announced a reward of ₹30k on any information regarding the accused.
