Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Inspector General (IG) Sagar Himani Khanna has announced a reward of ₹30,000 for information on the accused involved in the loot of ₹61 lakh from a cash van in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur on August 15, Friday.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Agam Jain, an FIR has been registered in the matter against unidentified men under relevant sections of BNS.
Additionally, 10 special teams have been set-up to investigate the matter and nab the culprits.
Teams are also scanning CCTV footage and taking assistance from a cyber cell to trace the robbers.
What was the matter?
According to information, ₹61.17 lakh was looted at gunpoint near Sichhari Tigailla under Gaurihar police station limits on Independence Day, Friday.
It is said that 2 unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and intercepted a cash-carrying vehicle. They threatened the staff with a country-made pistol, looted the money it was carrying and fled from the spot.
Police later registered an FIR under charges of robbery.
The victims informed that they were transporting the cash from Mahoba to deposit it in an ATM at Sarbai. This is when the robbers arrived, blocked their way and carried out the heist in broad daylight.
