Bollywood: Move over motorcycle diaries, scooter stories are here

Hrithik Roshan’s debut film showed him stopping at a signal on a mean looking sports bike. He charmed everyone with his biceps, dance steps and of course his bike. Just one film old, Hrithik Roshan was a heart throb already. Had all his contemporaries made their entry on a superbike would they be heartthrobs too?

2016 did not seem like the year of the super bikes. Amitabh Bachchan riding a scooter in TE3N was quite a sight. The tall legendary actor had to literally practice for days to get his stance right while riding a scooter.

Later we saw Salman Khan ride a blue scooter in Sultan. The scooter and the humble green sleeve less sweater contributed to Salman’s common man look.

Aamir Khan too is seen riding a scooter in his upcoming film Dangal. After gaining around 30 kgs extra for his look in Dangal, Aamir looks like a mirror image of Mahavir Phogat in the promos. The scooter plays an important role in the film as Aamir is seen taking his daughters for training on this very rustic scooter.

One more hero will be seen riding the common man’s vehicle very soon. It’s none other than Akshay Kumar in his upcoming film Jolly LLB 2. In the very first teaser of the film, Akshay is seen riding a traditional scooter.

The scooter seems to add the realistic middle class touch to every character in Hindi films while the motorcycle depicts the modern youth.
