Mahavir Singh Phogat, a real life hero and a super daddy. After seeing the trailer one can say that it not always necessary to raise your daughter like princess. Sometimes, you have to make them tough, rough and confident to face the harsh realities of life. Dangal is the real life story of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, a state wrestler champion later becomes coach to his own daughters (Geeta and Babita).
The close three-minute trailer shows coach Mahavir, carve path for his daughter to become the world’s wrestling Champion. The story of Mahavir Singh is not just about his two daughters, but he coached his six daughters and all of them brought success at the international level. Mahavir, a passionate wrestler who failed to at the top level of the game, made sure his daughters being the glory, he failed to.
Mahavir Singh’s love for his daughters is not just reflects from his words but in his actions too. The movie covers only two eldest sisters but Mahavir put equal efforts in each of his daughter to make them world champion. Mahavir Singh has bagged ‘The Dronacharya Award’ by the Wrestling Federation of India and is globally recognised for his exceptional wrestling and coaching skills. By breaking all the taboos his village, Mahavir Singh is a true inspiration to all the fathers. The Phogat family has produced as many as six wrestlers for the country. It’s not an easy journey for the Phogat family to reach at the level they are now.
Mahavir born in a remote area, in Balali village in Haryana, and his thoughts about raising his daughters have spread a strong message across the globe. Mahavir faced the wrath of the villagers who were irked by the idea of local girls slugging it out in the mud. People used to make fun of them as till then wrestling was only men’s game. However, Phogat sisters are not first sister-wrestlers in India. Karnam Malleshwari’s Olympic bronze medal win in 2000 was the inspiration for Mahavir Phogat to fill up his akhaada with girls.
The achievements of the Phogat family are being documented by Nitesh Tiwari in Dangal, one of the most awaited films of 2016. The movie tells the story of a father-wrestler who dreamt of pushing his daughters into the competitive world by training them to fight them in mud pits. Superstar Aamir Khan has delivered some of the greatest hits in the past and we are hoping that Mr. Perfectionist will once again deliver the same and the movie will do justice to what the “incredible true story”.
