Washington DC: Billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday brandished a chainsaw on stage to underline his campaign for reducing the federal budget and workforce through United States President Donald Trump's proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) panel. Notably, the chainsaw was presented by Argentine President Javier Milei. The incident took place during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) outside Washington
Dressed in a black "Make America Great Again" cap and sunglasses, Musk was soon joined by the Argentine President. He handed the tech billionaire a chainsaw. Musk the raised it to the crowd. he said, "This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy." The video showing Musk raisng the chaisaw in air also surfaced online.

Milei, who rose to prominence in Argentina with a vow to shake up the country's government and economy, often wields a chainsaw at political events, emblematic of his mission to cut large swaths of his country's federal government, according to The Hill.
Musk further said that the media's repeated use of the phrase "threat to democracy" could be replaced with "threat to bureaucracy", and that would make better sense.
He said, "The legacy media all say the same thing at the same time. They're mouthpieces for the state. They're always saying 'threat to democracy,' but if you just replaced democracy with bureaucracy, it makes a lot of sense."
DOGE publishes details of every dollar it saves on its official website. As per reports, the department claimed that it had saved over USD 50 million after Trump took charge on January 20 till February 19.
Notably, the US President established the DOGE after taking charge. The main aim of DOGE is to reduce federal spending.
