Tehran: A shocking video of an Iranian woman stripping down and jumping naked onto a police car in an apparent protest against the country's oppressive clothing laws for women. The incident reportedly took place in Iran's second-largest city, Mashhad.
The explicit footage soon went viral on social media. In the video, the woman yelled at police officers. She also stood on the hood of the police vehicle. Notably, cops did allow commuters to halt.
The woman also climbed onto the car's windshield. In the viral clip, the woman angrily raised her arms Netizens claimed that the woman was protesting against the treatment of women in Iran.

In December last year, Iran’s legislature passed a controversial strict new “chastity and hijab” bill, reported The New York Times. It aimed to introduce stringent punishments and fines for women and girls not covering their hair or wearing revealing clothes.

However, the bill was put on hold after backlash from international human rights organisations. As per BBC, under the new law violators would face imprisonment up to 15 years and also hefty fines.

In November last year, a young college woman stripped her clothes on the premises of Tehran’s Azad University. In viral videos, she could be seen walking on the premises in undergarments. She was soon taken away by a group of men in a car.
Violent protests erupted in Iran in 2022 when Mahsa Amini died in the custody of moral police after being arrested for hijab violations. Almost 550 people were reportedly killed in the protests and thousands were arrested.
