Moscow: The Russian passenger plane An-24, which went missing on Thursday morning, crashed in the Amur region. At the time of the crash, there were 49 people aboard. The wreckage of a plane was found in Russia's Far East.

There were 43 passengers and six crew members aboard the ill-fated when it crashed. Among the deceased were five children. The plane was travelling from the city of Blagoveshchensk on the Russian-Chinese border to the town of Tynda, regional Gov Vasily Orlov said, as reported by The Associated Press.

Moments Before The Russian Plane Crashed:

After reports surfaced about the plane went missing, emergency services were pressed into action. The aircraft was operated by a Siberia-based airline called Angara. The local emergency ministry said the radar signal from the plane was lost when it approached its destination, Tynda.

Notably, the town is situated in the Amur region near the China border. "Rescuers locate burning fuselage of missing Russian passenger plane on a mountainside about 16 kilometres (10 miles) from Tynda," emergency officials said, as quoted by The Economic Times.

As per Russian news agency, poor visibility could be the reason behind the crash.
