France: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille on Wednesday, February 12, to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the World Wars.
Alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi laid a wreath at the memorial, highlighting the strong historical ties between India and France.

PM Modi also visited the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) site with President Macron. India and France have expressed their commitment to collaborate on the development of advanced nuclear reactors, highlighting the importance of nuclear energy for ensuring energy security and supporting the shift to a low-carbon economy.
The two nations signed a letter of intent focused on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs), as stated in a joint statement.
As per the letter, the two nations declared to take part in the development of the emerging technology in view of the upcoming India-France Year of Innovation in 2026,
PM Modi was in France to attend the AI Action Summit.
