Toronto: At least 12 people were injured in a mass shooting at a pub in Canada's Toronto on Friday night (local time). According to reports, an unidentified gunman opened fire in the pub in Toronto’s Scarborough district. The pub is reportedly located near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive. The gunman fled from the spot after the shooting.
Authorities immediately swung into action. Injured were provided medical aid and later shifted to nearby hospitals. The police have launched a manhunt operation to nab the gunman.
However, there are no reports of any casualties so far.
"I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough. I have spoken to Chief Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed," Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow posted on X.
"This is an early and ongoing investigation - police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families," Chow added.
Authorities have advised the resident of the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
