Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia], August 24: In conjunction with Malaysia's 69th National Day celebrations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has announced temporary airspace closures within the Kuala Lumpur Terminal Control Area to facilitate the National Day Flypast 2026.
Flight schedule changes
According to Malaysia Airlines, these closures will result in the retiming of selected Malaysia Airlines flights arriving at and departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.
Affected passengers will be notified via their registered contact details and are encouraged to check their latest flight status on the Malaysia Airlines website or mobile app before travelling to the airport.
With the upcoming school holidays and peak travel period from August 26 to September 6, passengers departing from KLIA Terminal 1 are advised to arrive at least four (4) hours before their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for airport procedures, the airline stated.
Malaysia's National Day, celebrated annually on August 31, commemorates the Federation of Malaya's independence from British rule in 1957.
