International Mud Day is celebrated on June 29, every year. This day encourages everyone to remove time from work and play on the mud.

About

People spend time by laying on the mud and build different structures on mud. Parents spend time with kids who like to play in the mud.

History

International Mud Day started in 2009. Bishnu Bhatta from Nepal and Gillian McAuliffe from Australia, at the World Forum event spoke about different ways for people to appreciate world. One of the activities they thought was that people can spend time relaxing on mud.

Why is it celebrated?

One great reason to celebrate this day is that it is the time for you to be close to Mother Earth. There are different health benefits from playing on mud. It has minerals which are healthy for the skin. Mud has physical and mental benefits.
