A member of a banned anti-Shia outfit, Qari Abdul Rehman, was shot dead by an unknown assailant in Pakistan's Karachi on Monday. Rehman is reported to be a member of the Ahl-e Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ).

Karachi: A member of a banned anti-Shia outfit, Qari Abdul Rehman, was shot dead by an unknown assailant in Pakistan's Karachi on Monday. Rehman is reported to be a member of the Ahl-e Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ). Three people, including Rehman's father, were reportedly injured in the attack.

Some reports even claimed that Rehman was terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT’s) financer and Hafiz Saeed’s close aide. The incident was caught on camera and the video also surfaced online.

In the video, it could be seen that a masked man with a gun came to Rehman’s shop. The assailant opened fire at Rehman when he was standing behind the counter. He died on the spot. The video also shows that the gunmen shot at another person present at the shop.

The video also shows that the assailant opene fire on other people. In the video, it could be seen that a child was standing at the counter of the shop when Rehman was killed. The masked man did not harm the child. The exact reason of Rehman murder is not known.

Hafiz Saeed's Aide Abu Qatal Killed In March This Year:

Earlier this month, Saeed's close aide Abu Qatal was also murdered in Pakistan under unclear circumstances. The exact date of Qatal’s death remained unknown. Some reports suggest that internal rivalry between Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and LeT could be the reason for Qatal’s murder.

Qatal, a top commander of LeT, was a key planner and executioner of multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, including the June 9, 2024, attack on a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in Reasi district, where several civilians were killed.
