Beijing, June 22: China on Sunday strongly reacted to the airstrikes conducted by the United States of America at nuclear facilities in Iran amid conflict with Israel. Responding to a question about the U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement over the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, Chinese Foreign Ministry said that they strongly condemn the attack as it is the violation of United Nations (UN) Charter, reported Global Times.

Chinese Foreign Ministry was asked, "U.S. President Trump has announced that strikes have been completed on three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. What is China’s comment on this?"

Foreign Ministry spokesperson responded to the question regarding the U.S. strike on the Iranian nuclear facilities and said, "China strongly condemns the U.S. attack on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities under international safeguards. Such actions by the U.S. severely violate the principles of the UN Charter and international law, and escalate tensions in the Middle East."

The spokesperson also urged all the sides to exercise restraint and said, "China calls for all parties, especially those involved in the conflict, to exercise restraint, cease hostilities promptly, ensure civilian safety, and resume dialogue. China is committed to working with the international community to promote peace, uphold justice, and contribute to stability and nuclear non-proliferation in the Middle East."

America conducted airstrikes and targetted three nuclear facilities deep inside Iran. U.S. also warned of further precision strike unless it ends the conflict with Israel. U.S. B-2 Bombers targetted the highly fortified nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the nation after the successful operation and said, "I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight and all of the United States military on a operation, the likes of which the world has not seen in many many decades. Hopefully we no longer need their services in this capacity. I hope so."

He also said, "This cannot continue. There will either be peace or tragedy for Iran, far greater than what we have witnessed over the last eight days. Remember, there are many targets left."

Trump further added, "Tonight was the most difficult of them all by far and perhaps the most lethal. But if peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed and skill. Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes. There is no military in the world that could have done what we did tonight, not even close. There is never been a military that could have done what took place just a little while ago."

Extending his gratitude towards Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he said, "I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. We worked as a team, like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we've gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel. I want to thank the Israeli military for the wonderful job they've done."
