Dismissing recent speculations surrounding President Vladimir Putin's health, the Kremlin clarified that the Russian leader was in good health. The Kremlin's clarification came after reports claimed that Putin suffered a cardiac arrest.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed the matter during a routine press briefing. He said that Putin was doing well.
"Rumours about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health are yet another canard. He is alright," Peskov told the reporters.
He also rubbished claims of the president employing body doubles, saying they were "absurd hoax".
Concerns over Putin's health arose after a Russian Telegram channel said that he experienced a serious health episode on Sunday. It alleged that he was found "lying on the floor, rolling his eyes" after suffering a suspected heart episode/
Following this, the international media reported that the Russian leader was unwell.
After the reports on Putin's alleged ill health, observers noticed a scar on his neck in one of his recent videos.
