Barbe Bleue
Bluebeard, originally Barbe Bleue, is an adaptation of the classic tale that was written by Charles Perrault about a wealthy aristocrat with a blue beard. Controversial filmmaker Catherine Breillat puts a new spin on an ancient story in this multileveled drama. The story is based in France in the mid-50s. Catherine (Marilou Lopes-Benites) enjoys toying with her older sister, Marie-Anne (Lola Giovannetti). She reads her sister the story of the murderous and oft-married Bluebeard which she embellishes with plenty of gore scaring the girl out of her wits. As Catherine re-reads the story, she takes all back to the year 1697 when Lord Bluebeard (Dominique Thomas) prepares to make Marie-Catherine (Lola Créton) his seventh wife. When: Nov 20, 7:00 PM Onwards. Where: Prithvi Theatre, 20, Janki Kutir, Juhu, Mumbai. Contact: 022 26149546.
