Amid all the praises for PM Narendra Modi for bringing yoga to the centre-stage of the world, and with International Yoga Day just a few hours away, we got our hands on our first PM Jawaharlal Nehru nailing ‘shirsasana’, a difficult yoga posture. It seems Nehru was fond of the asana and has also mentioned about the impact of it in his autobiography. He writes, ‘The slightly comic position increased my good humour and made me a little more tolerant of life’s vagaries.’

Not just shirsana, Nehru was an ace swimmer and horse rider as well. On May 29, 2014, Shashi Tharoor has tweeted a picture of Nehru, who was out for a swim with his Gandhi top on. Tharoor writes, “Probably the most unusual picture of Nehruji I've seen -- out for a swim with his topi still on!”
