Prime Minister along with the members of the Union Council of Ministers will take oath on May 30, 2019, at 7 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan. According to the reports, the ceremony is likely to be attended by 6,000 people, possibly making a new record for hosting such a huge crowd. Guests include leaders of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) nations, opposition leaders, international politicians, celebrities and family members of BJP workers who lost their lives in incidents of political violence in West Bengal.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony will be followed by a high tea and dinner for guests. Initially what looked like a purely vegetarian menu has been changed to add a few non-vegetarian dishes to suit the palates of foreign dignitaries. Most of the food will be prepared in the Rashtrapati Bhawan kitchen. The high tea will have a vegetarian menu that includes rajbhog, samosas, lemon tarts and sandwiches to name a few. The highlight of the menu is ‘Dal Raisina’, Rashtrapati Bhawan’s signature dish that takes over 48 hours to cook.

In 2014, the ceremony was scheduled for 6 pm which had guests walking in from 4 pm. Citing security reasons water bottles were not permitted inside the venue causing inconvenience to the attendees.
