A recent LinkedIn post by Dushyant Mishra, identified as the Director of Business Development of a Mumbai-based firm, has sparked discussion about fair pay and employee motivation. In the now-viral post, Mishra recounted an interaction with an employee named Vedika, who earned ₹1 lakh per month and suggested she could perform better if the company paid her more. "Itne paise mein aisa hi kaam hoga (For this salary, this is the level of work you get)", she remarked.
The director wanted to understand her point of view about salary and work quality a little further. Curious over her remark, he questioned her whether her performance would improve if she received ₹1.5 lakh per month or an amount even greater. Mishra mentioned that the employee agreed to provide better services to the firm in accordance with the financial acknowledgement towards her work.
