Woman criticises group of girls for wearing ‘short dress’, says they ‘deserve rape’; video goes viral

A video has gone viral on social media where a woman has been accused of criticising the dress sense of a group of girls. The video was shared on Facebook and the incident took place in Gurugram.

The video was shared by a woman named Shivani Gupta and while sharing the video she wrote in a Facebook post, “Hey guys. Today my friends and I were harassed by a woman at a restaurant for me wearing a short dress. This middle-aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion. For speaking up against her primitive mindset. Our instinct was turn away from the drama but supported by our colleagues, we took her on at a shopping centre, nearby. We gave her the chance to apologise, to no avail, of course. Nothing moved the needle for her, not even another woman who learned the story on the spot and implored the ghastly woman to apologise. See for yourself. And share.”

In the video, an older woman approached by a group of girls who had earlier been criticised by the former. The girls followed the middle-aged woman in the entire store and asked her to apologise for the statement made by her. When the group of girls started following her, the woman asked the store staff to call the police. On being asked to apologise, the woman refused to repeat her statement and told the girl filming the video to “go to hell”.

Another woman who was visiting stood up in support of the girls and asked the woman to apologise. At the end of the video, the woman, accused, looked into the phone cameras and said: “these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them”. The woman even asked the parents of the girls to “control them”. The woman further asked the girls to spread the video all over the country.
