In a strange case of mistaken identity, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi was recently substituted with her Congress namesake Priyanka Gandhi in a newspaper article. Now, publishing gaffes are not a new phenomenon, but it is somewhat more rare to see a leading publication overcome all political constraints to mix up the images of two well known politicians.
The quote in question was an excerpt from remarks made by Chaturvedi on actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. "Sushant Singh Rajput's case was raised only to defame Maharashtra govt and his death was exploited by central ruling party in Bihar polls," reads the quote attributed to her.
We feel compelled to add here that the newspaper also added her verified Twitter handle alongside Gandhi's photo. This handle incidentally bears multiple images of the Rajya Sabha MP. For her part, Chaturvedi was quick to respond after the gaffe was flagged.
"Sigh. Next could be Chopra pic and my tweet," she quipped in response to the tweet.
