Channapatna: An emotional video highlighting the human-animal bond has come to light from Karnataka's Channapatna. The video shows a monkey hugging the body of an 85-year-old woman. The monkey can be seen visibly upset, resting its face on the woman's shoulder as her body was being laid for the last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Parvatiamma. She used to feed monkeys near her house daily despite her poor health.
She passed away on Monday due to old age-related illnesses. When her body was placed at home for the final journey, a monkey came, hugged the body, and began crying. The video highlights the bond the animal shared with the woman and the grief it felt after losing a loved one. The video has gone viral on social media.
