The announcer of the TV show speculated that the major Tsunami that hit earlier could be one of the reasons for this.

Amid Asia's eastern region, settles after one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded struck Russia’s Far East early Wednesday. Japanese TV has now aired visuals of several beached whales standing in Tateyama, Chiba prefecture. The announcer of the TV show speculated that theh major Tsuanami that hit earlier could be one of the reasons for this. Though, the primary reason is still unclear.

A post on X posted by @mrjeffu reads, "Japanese TV has aired footage of several beached whales in Tateyama, Chiba prefecture. The area was not hit by a major tsunami, and as the announcer says, it is unclear if this is related to the Kamchatka earthquake."

The video in the post shows several whales washed ashore on the beach. The visual grabs airel view of the beached whales.

In a twitter thread, the X user, @mrjeffu, also shared other visuals which was shared before the Kamchatka earthquake occurred. The user wrote, "A Japanese Facebook post indicates that the whales in Tateyama were beached before the Kamchatka earthquake. Many Twitter accounts have been sharing videos from Japanese TV without translating the audio stating there is no information that the earthquake caused the whales to beach."

The user added, "A Japanese Facebook post made before the earthquake shows whales already washed up on the beach in Tateyama, with the user suggesting it was caused by high waves from a typhoon."

Tsunami Hits After 8.8-Magnitude Quake Strikes Russian Coast

A tsunami has hit coastal areas of Russia's Kuril Islands and Japan's large northern island of Hokkaido after a powerful, 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Russia early Wednesday. Warnings are also in place for Alaska, Hawaii and other coasts south toward New Zealand.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said a tsunami as high as 40 centimeters (1.3 feet) had been detected in 16 locations as the waves moved south along the Pacific coast from Hokkaido to just northeast of Tokyo.
