A new high-tech billboard attached to Cross Shinjuku Vision, in Shinjuku, Japan is making quite the buzz (or may we say, 'purr') on social media. But what's so special about it?
As per a report by the Japanese news website TimeOut, The digital billboard spans over three floors and has a unique curved LED screen which gives more depth to the featured images and videos and helps create a mesmerising 3D effect. The advertisements on the screen seem like they are just about to leap out at you. While such technology is present in countries like China and South Korea, but for Japan, it's a first.
To introduce the new 3D technology, Cross Shinjuku conducted a test by putting up a short video of a giant 3D calico cat. Needless to say, people on the street stopped and stood perplexed as they watched the advertisement.
The cat will have its official debut on Monday July 12, the little test itself has gone viral after put it up on Twitter. The video has received more than 4.8 million views by now.
Here's how people are reacting to the 3D Calico cat. Have a look.
