China: Typhoon Wipha is wrecking havoc in several areas of China forcing about 670,000 residents to be evacuated to safety when it battered the southern province on Sunday. Various visuals are surfacing on the Internet which shows devastating conditions from the ground zero. One of the viral videos shows people struggling against the fierce winds of Typhoon Wipha.
One of the viral video on X showed people nearly losing balance due to strong winds. Kids and families were devastated due to the winds, some fell on the ground while some of them were struggling to even walk on the pathways. The caption of the video reads, "Typhoon Wipha disrupted travel and daily life across Hong Kong and southern China today, grounding over 400 flights and affecting around 80,000 passengers in Hong Kong alone."
"Hundreds more flights were delayed in nearby cities. High winds toppled trees, injuring 26 people, and over 250 sought shelter as the storm passed south of the city before making landfall in Guangdong," it adds.

Typhoon Wipha brought heavy rains and strong winds to Hong Kong, causing fallen trees, collapsed scaffolding, and sending over 250 people to temporary shelters. In Hong Kong, 400 flights were rescheduled, affecting 80,000 travelers, and Cathay Pacific canceled all flights between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. Public transport, including ferries, was suspended due to high sea swells.
The impact of typhoon Wipha was less severe compared to past typhoons like Mangkhut and Hato, with 26 people seeking hospital treatment and 471 fallen trees reported.
