When a Crypto boss from China named Justin Sun bought the duct-tapped banana for $6.2 million (Approx. Rs 52 crore), he did something you probably didn't think about.

Justin, who purchased the viral artwork by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan (better known as Comedian), displayed it at a luxury hotel in Hong Kong. After spending the huge sum on the artwork at Sotheby’s in New York, he was involving in a public stunt at The Peninsula hotel in China.

What did he do after buying that duct-tapped banana art? 'Just' ate it. Yes, Justin Sun just ate it.

A video of him taking tiny steps and pulling out the banana out of the tape, followed by consuming it himself as surfaced online. Undoubtedly, the clip has gone viral for its quirky nature.

Justin told why he did so. He credited his actions to his friends, who kept asking him curiously how the fruit tasted. "Many friends asked me what this banana tasted like. To be honest, for a banana with such a story, the taste is naturally different from ordinary bananas. I tasted the flavor of a Gros Michel banana from 100 years ago", he stated.

To the unaware, this art piece made the headlines for the first time when it was presented at the Miami’s Art Basel in 2019. There it aught global attention and sparked debates about what the artwork really meant. Over the years, it excited art admirers and others furthermore, making it sell for $6.2 million this November.

Notably, the pre-sale estimate wasn't that high. It was reported to be $1.5 million, but thanks to the auction that took up the prices to an unbelievable high.
