In a moment of real-time resilience, a news anchor tried to stay unfazed during a strong earthquake hit Turkey and left the studio shaking.

CNN Turkey news anchor Meltem Bozbeyoglu stuck to her professionalism, uncompromised, when a magnitude 6.2 earthquake shook Istanbul’s newsroom during her live broadcast on April 23.

As the natural calamity struck the region, Bozbeyoglu was delivering a live report. The tremors were caught on camera.

“A very strong earthquake is happening right now. A very strong earthquake is being felt in Istanbul (translated)," she reportedly said in the viral video.

In the video, Bozbeyoglu raised her hand with an open palm, perhaps signalling to herself and the camera crew that she was fine and that the broadcast would continue.

Dressed in a white top and a bright red jacket, she maintained her poise and calmly proceeded with the news delivery, undisturbed by the dramatic tremors around her.

As the video surfaced online, her unwavering professionalism received admiration from viewers worldwide.

Turkey Earthquake

The earthquake, which struck at 3:19 PM local time on April 23, had a magnitude of 6.2 and was felt across several countries, including Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania.

In Turkey, the tremors were especially strong in Istanbul and nearby provinces, including Izmir, located 550 kilometres south of the epicentre.

The earthquake caused widespread panic, and at least 151 people were rushed to the hospitals for injuries
