The Supreme Court's decision to relocate all the street dogs in Delhi-NCR to animal shelters hasn't been welcomed by netizens and animal lovers. Many have criticised the decision and have doubted the efficiency of the system to manage such a huge operation and the maintenance it may cause. A huge outrage has been sparked on the Internet with slamming comments and loads of other alternatives that can be implemented.
The SC bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan, which took suo motu cognisance of a media report about incidents of dog bites leading to rabies, also directed that stray dogs which have been picked up and moved to shelters should not be released back into the streets.

Netizens Reaction:
A huge outrage has been sparked on the Internet by animal activists and netizens. One user wrote, "The Supreme Court order on stray dogs in Delhi is nothing but a death sentence for every single stray on every single street in the national capital - and each one of us needs to raise our voice against it to #SaveDelhiDogs."
Another user wrote, "The earth belongs to everyone. The idea is to co-exist. We need to work on the ‘how’. Whether it’s humans, animals, plants, or other parts of nature, we must find solutions to make way for each other. Is it that difficult?"
One user wrote, "I wish the government worked this hard on real issues… not on removing innocent dogs."
Another user wrote, "The order on stray dogs being rounded up within 8 weeks in some magical shelter homes that will come up overnight makes ZERO sense. Unfortunate for the Apex court to think that this is achievable without dogs being killed shows that our courts are pretty far from reality."
Another user wrote, "Such an inhuman stance. Since when has the world only belonged to humans. At least reprimand the laxity by civic authorities for not sterilizing dogs. To just pick and throw dogs is beyond understanding."
