In the video, she comes across a full-length coat stitched entirely from a Royal Basmati rice sack—the very same kind that Indian households often reuse for doormats or storage bags.

The coat, now rebranded as a designer piece, was seen hanging on a boutique rack with a label that proudly read: “One of a kind.” The price? A jaw-dropping $1,950 (over ₹1.6 lakh).
According to the boutique's description, the jacket is meant to represent “identity and globalisation,” featuring the original rice branding and weight printed boldly on the back.
An Instagram page, @sippingthoughts, reposted the video with the caption: “Some are calling it sustainable fashion. Others are just confused...Would you wear it?”
