A desperate woman ended her job hunt on Indeed (a job search portal) and resorted to a dating app to find herself some work. She chatted with men who liked her photos only to ask them whether they would like to hire her at their companies.
"I'm done with indeed applications I'm taking matters into my own hands", she wrote while telling the internet about her unconventional way of getting a job. She was identified as an X user named 'Coca', a woman from New York City interested in audio engineering jobs.
She was fed up with applying on the said job portal. Done with it, she landed on dating apps for a job search. Coca would share photos on her account and connect with people who reacted to these clicks.
She wouldn't get into flirty chats or romantic conversations with people on the dating app, instead, Coca would ask them one question all the time: "Are you hiring?"
When a man curiously asked what work profile was she interested in, the woman wrote, "Currently intern audio engineering/studio hand". "I am willing to learn and do ANYTHING. I’m a fast learner, proficient at anything I need to do and desperate to not starve", she added.
While she initially described herself as an audio engineer, she also wrote, "Love investment banking, one of my favorite hobbies. Can you get me a job?" chatting with one of the dating app users.
