The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its 24-hour forecast has predicted a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers for today.
Many parts of the city have drenched in the rain. While some are struggling with water-logging and power shortage, others are simply sitting near the window, sipping their chai and enjoying the moment.
As Mumbaikars woke up to the sound of rain, being ardent rain lovers, they have taken to Twitter to express their love for the raindrops knocking on their windows.
People across Mumbai are sharing videos and pictures of rain in their city and spreading cheer and joy on Twitter.
Shocked at the sudden arrival of rain, thunder and lightning, One Twitter user wrote, "Heavy rains this morning...and woohoo the thundering...that was absolutely crazy."
Another wrote, "Hazy mornings, cold drizzles and strong winds is unlike regular Mumbai weather. It’s lovely! #MumbaiRains."
