Maha Shivratri 2025 is being celebrated on February 26 this year. On this auspicious occasion, an artist has gained widespread attention for creating a portrait of Lord Shiva. Instead of using pencil or water colours, he resorted to something quite different for his artwork. Identified as Shintu Mourya, artist and content creator created the enchanting art using coriander paste.

Mourya's innovative way of bringing Bhole Baba on paper has gone viral, captivating viewers on Instagram. The video was posted online earlier this month and it has already received more than 50,000 likes, making people chant "Har Har Mahadev" in the comments section.
The reel opened by showing the artist sitting in front of a life-size Shiva statue and holding a bundle of coriander in his hands. Next, he is seen turning the leaves into a fine paste and using it as a natural colour for his artwork. The video captured Mourya carefully picturising Lord Shiva on paper using the coriander paste.
Hand painting
The artist drew details of Mahadev and completed the sketch with perfection. He started his hand painting focusing on Bholenath's long hair and accessories. At the end of the clip, he beautifully painted Lord Shiva's face using the green paste, leaving Instagram users in awe. The video left people feeling a wave of devotion and bliss.
Video goes viral
So far, the coriander paste-based painting of Lord Shiva has won nine lakh views on the social media platform. It has won the hearts of netizens and made him chant "Har Har Mahadev".
