Are you someone you could add mayo to any food? If you are in extreme love with this sauce, think whether you would like to sip it instead of just adding it to the main dish. Japan's obsession for this sauce seems real as they have now launched a mayonnaise pack that you can sip.

Drinkable mayo, anyone?

The country's new drink isn't a bizarre fusion of ingredients, but "drinkable mayonnaise". It launched a mayo-style drink named "Nomu Mayo" recently, which rolled out in the market on the 26th of November.

Lawson, a Japan-based grocery company, unveiled its new product for the love and craze of mayo. To the unaware, it is said that people of the nation have a strong emotional connection with this ingredient, which makes it even more likeable and desirable. There are several reports online that speak about the "love affair" of Japanese people with mayonnaise.

It is believed that the drinkable mayo was brought to the stores to please customers who are crazy for mayonnaise regardless of the reasons. An X page named "Unseen Japan Site" informed netizens about this weird drink.

In one of the recent post, the page wrote sharing images of the mayo product, "Would you drink mayonnaise? If so - good news! Lawson will start selling a “drinkable mayonnaise” as a test product in Japan starting 11/26. Enjoy while the rest of us retch in the corner".

Netizens react

This product left people stunned. X users started reacting to it by sharing hilarious comments suggesting they could never imagine sipping this drink. While many pointed out that loved mayo as an ingredient to some of their favourite fast foods, they weren't really ready to consume it as a drink.

"I love mayonnaise, but I draw the line at drinking it", one user wrote.

"I love mayo, but this I could not", second said.

"I’m quite the mayo enjoyer but I’d never drink it, especially with no sandwich or anything to go with it", another added.

Unconvinced that one could actually drink it, people speculated whether the product was actually mayo or something else in disguise.

One of the comments, read, "I have a feeling its just yogurt drink". "Relax, it’s just savory eggnog", said another.

Meanwhile, some even called it a "pointless product" claiming, "All mayonnaise is drinkable".
