Twitter and Twitterati never forget anything. From #MeToo to casteist jokes and raps, times and again Twitterati have dug up old graves, or to be literal, old tweets. Something similar has happened in connection to Twitter's row with Indian government.

Further flaring the dispute between micro-blogging platform Twitter and the Indian government, on Wednesday, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad publicly criticised Twitter over its non-compliance with the new IT rules.

Prasad posted a series of tweets accusing Twitter of being “over-enthusiastic about its fact-checking mechanism” and ridiculed Twitter for “portraying itself as the flag bearer of free speech.”

However, today Twitterati have brought back an old tweet by by the IT Minister wherein he expressed his love for Twitter. Lauding the platform for "freedom of expression" five years ago, the minister had appreciated Twitter for its work.

The tweet from March 21, 2016, reads, "“Freedom of expression and information sharing has got new strength from social media. Proud of contributions of Twitter to that.#LoveTwitter.”

The love for Twitter has now turned into dislike as Twitter and Indian government continue to be at loggerheads. Well, time moves forward, situations change, people change, and life moves on.

However, Twitterati don't seem like they plan to move on from speaking about this old tweet anytime soon.

Here's how Twitterati are reacting to the IT Minister's love-hate relationship with Twitter.
