Around nine Indian tourists recently faced horrible treatment In Russia after getting detained on their arrival in Moscow. A group of 12 Indians was travelling to Moscow with all the necessary documents needed during the transmit. Amit Tanwar, one of the 12 tourists, shared his horrible stay at the detention centre in Russia, termed it as 'inhumane and humiliated.' Nine tourists were held back without any clear communication by immigration authorities and later deported nearly after three days.

Amit Tanwar in a brief Instagram post, shares timeline of the incidents happened in Russia. It all started on June 8, when Tanwar was travelling with a group of Indian tourists to Moscow, Russia. But Moscow immigration only cleared three of them and held back other nine without any explaination for three days. Tanwar in his post has urged PM Modi, Indian embassy in Russia and S. Jaishankar, Minister of external affairs in India.

Tanwar started his post questioning the 'superpower' tag that India serves proudly. He wrote, "Whoever thinks India is a superpower or believes that India-Russia ties are strong - it's a myth. We are a group of 12 Indian tourists who traveled to Moscow with all the necessary and valid documents. Out of the 12, only 3 were cleared by Moscow immigration, while the remaining 9 (including myself) were held back without any explanation."

Inhumane Treatment At Detention Centre

On July 8, Tanwar and other tourists were denied entry and their passports were taken away. The immigration officers present, checked their phones- Including their phone galleries, browsing history and YouTube activity. After a while, authorities ordered deportation and were shifted to a small room and held back for around 3 days.

Tanwar wrote, "We are being treated like criminals. There has been no communication or clarity from the authorities about the reason for our deportation or our current status. At the moment, we are confined in a small, locked room, with no proper information or basic assistance. The treatment we are receiving is inhumane, and we are feeling helpless and humiliated."
