Days after the video of two intoxicated youths peeing into a hotpot soup went viral on Weibo and other social media platforms, it was reported the restaurant felt 'extremely sorry' for fellow costumers dining at the space. In an act of apology, they refunded the bill of all customers who dined between February 24 and March 8, the days between the urinating ruckus and the detainment of the two culprits.

Full refund

A report by CBS News reported the Chinese eatery would compensate for their customers' spoilt dining experience by refunding their money, a way to seek apology and suggest they value them. The restaurant offered a full refund to anyone who dined at the respective store between the said days. It was equivalent to a full refund plus a lump sum of 10 times that amount.

After informing that they cleaned all utensils and changed those involved in the exact activity, Haidilao promised to clear off the bills of more than 4,100 customers.

A video of the disgusting behaviour went viral on social media. It showed a man standing on the dining table with his boots and peeing into the hotpot soup. The duo which engaged in the act were identified was 17-year-old migrant workers.
