A look into the experiement
The clip, shared by Kevin Winnik, showed him initially watching an online video featuring an easy way to open a beer bottle. After taking a look at the hack, he tried it out himself, wanting to verify whether things suggested in reels actually work or not.
Dressed in a grey t-shirt, he pulled up his denim jeans and started his experiment by releasing his shoelace. He loosened the shoelace from his footwear and grabbed it in fist. The visuals captured him tying the lace around the bottle cap in an attempt to break it off.
Did the bottle-opening act work?
He placed a Heineken beer bottle on a table and tried to open it with his shoelace instead of simply using a bottle opener. He ran his shoelace around the bottle's neck and its cap, strategically creating tension.
As he pulled the lace forcefully towards him, the cap immediately popped off, resulting in the beer spraying in all directions. The video recorded his shocked yet victorious reaction as the hack worked.
Netizens react

The video has since gone viral with more than 20 million views, with netizens expressing their amusement and surprise. "That's pretty cool", one commented. "Wow!", said another while terming the hack as an useful one.
