Political debates on Indian electronic news are often plagued with screaming matches and loud arguments filled with utter chaos. One such TV debate has been doing the rounds of internet.

A video of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate calling Sambit Patra of the BJP naali ka keeda (gutter worm) during a LIVE TV debate has gone viral on Twitter. Responding to Shrinate’s remarks, Patra shared the video on Twitter using the hashtag ‘Gali Wali Madam’ which has now gone viral.

During a TV debate on Aaj Tak moderated by Anjana Om Kashyap, Shrinate can be heard saying to Patra, “Tum do kaudi ke naali ke keede ho. Are chup ho ja naali ke keede, kya bol rahe ho? (You are a worthless gutter worm. Now shut up you gutter worm. What are you talking about!).”

Stunned by use of such a term on national Television, Kashyap said, “What is this Supriya ji?”

The video also has a clip from his earlier appearance on News18 India TV channel where he was debating with Shrinate. The show was being moderated by Amish Devgan.

The Congress spokesperson was heard saying to Patra, “Chhichhore aadmi tameez se baat karo. (You cheap person, show some decency while speaking).”

Sharing the video, Patra tweeted, “Friends, you must watch this video and think just how low some people can stoop to. What upbringing! It pains.”

The video has gone viral on Twitter and thousands are criticising Shrinate over her usage of disparaging words on national Television. On the other hand, there are also those who are saying that Patra is receiving a taste of his own medicine as he often ridicules women during such debates too.

Here's what people are saying. Have a look.
