An Instagram influencer has claimed that she received insect-infested Maggi that she ordered from Zepto Cafe. Instagram influencer Sukhmeet Kaur posted a video showing multiple almost-finished Zepto cafe tubs. Ants can be spotted between the leftover noodles in the tub.

"Reality of 10 mins from Zepto cafe," was the text written on the video. "This is disgusting. However, I'm shocked to see their cafe still operating with deceptive offers like 'Buy 1 get 1 free' - serving food with insects is unacceptable! They're prioritizing fast delivery over hygiene and health." Kaur's caption read.

Mumbai-Mumbai based influencer'spost also drew reactions from netizens on Instagram. One of the users said, I think it's your mistake because it's bowl get finished and in last the last ants seen . It's mean that you put it any where and ants gone into it. Clearly there is no fault of zepto." (sic)

Another user said, "Extra taste kaha hai ye toh yaha hai."(sic) Another user made a comment claiming they fell ill after consuming food ordered from Zepto cafe. "I swear two days back i had veg puff and suffered gastrointestinal problem and motions and its still gng bad never ordering anything from there ever again."

Another user said,"Why order something and wait for 30 minutes for something that can be made at home in two minutes."(sic)

The video comes days after, Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cancelled the food business licence of Zepto’s facility in Dharavi after a surprise inspection found multiple serious violations of food safety rules.

This move is part of a larger crackdown on Zepto's operations in Mumbai. According to FDA officials, the inspection at the Dharavi location revealed poor hygiene and unsafe food storage conditions.

Some food items were found with fungal growth, while others were stored near stagnant water. The cold storage units were not keeping the required temperature, and the floors were dirty and wet.

Inspectors also found expired food items not clearly separated from the fresh stock. The inspection was triggered by a tip-off received from the Minister of State for FDA, Yogesh Kadam.
