In a viral video, a white horse was caught aggressively attacking a large elephant in Ratlam city, Madhya Pradesh, leaving stunned onlookers fleeing for cover.
The incident occurred near Palsoda Phata and was captured on camera, which has since gone viral. The footage shows a visibly enraged horse charging at a massive elephant, while passersby can be seen running chaotically.
The horse was seen chasing, biting, and even jumping at the jumbo, refusing to back down despite the elephant’s mahout, seated above, trying to control the situation using a stick.

The elephant, despite its strength and size, appeared to be on the defensive side, not actively engaging in the fight. Even as it tried to walk away, the horse chased it at full speed, further intensifying the dramatic fight between the two animals.
Initial reports suggest the horse had been tied nearby and broke free before launching the attack. The exact reason behind the animal’s aggression is still unclear.
No injuries reported
Though no injuries to the public were reported, the sight of two such large animals clashing in the middle of a road caused widespread alarm. Visuals, however, showed a bike falling down during the fight.
Social media users have been widely sharing the video. The internet was hooked to the fight, which ended without a clear conclusion.
In a similar video, posted by a safari group in Africa, a young bull elephant confronted a guide on horseback. The visuals surfaced on YouTube in 2023.
The page, Horizonhorseback, captioned the post describing the face-off: "Our guides and our horses have been riding with and alongside elephants for many years. It is the lead guide and lead horse’s job to stand their ground, to give the back up guide a chance to lead the other riders away from the elephant and take the pressure off....The elephants do respond, and will move on."
