Former US President Donald Trump is once again making headlines, this time being the victim of fake news (a problem he has highlighted time and again). Having gone through the discussion we can now confirm that the Republican leader did not recently wear his trousers backwards, as some on social media platforms would like you to believe. But with fact-checks having been conducted and tens of thousands of tweets to discuss the same, we're inclined to say that there are no winners here.

It all began, at the beginning of June, when a clip of the former President appearing on stage went viral for all the wrong reasons. Thousands zoomed in on his trousers as people began insisting that Trump was wearing his trousers backwards - a claim that does not quite ring true when one looks at the associated visuals. Others still insisted that they were "not normal" pants.

And as thousands scrutinised the front of Trump's trousers (a horrifying thought) others went a step further opting to write about it. Fact checking website Snopes undertook a detailed examination of "the billionaire’s crotch area" to say with conviction that he was wearing his pants right.

"Yes, this was perhaps not the way we wanted to spend our Sunday. But we check what people us ask, so.... How about throwing a few bucks our way, so we can be here for the next breaking controversy?" read a tweet from the organisation.

But true or not, people are unfortunately still talking about Trump's pants. And while he might not have been wearing his pants backwards, many are convinced that there is certainly something wrong with his trousers. Dare we say that they are 'flying by the seat of their pants' fueled by their dislike of the former President?

With nearly 15 thousands tweets on the topic, people are also somewhat incredulous about the fact check. "Well, that's good to know I guess. Man, the bar is really low for this guy if millions of people, myself included, think he might have put his pants on backwards,"' remarked one Twitter user.

"Snopes actually has a fact check on whether Donald had his pants on backwards or not and now I hate the internet,' summarised another.
