In a heart-wrenching incident, a pit bull dog in Karnataka's Kattaya village, Hassan district, passed away after bravely fighting with a cobra and saving its family from attack. When a 12-foot-long cobra slithered into a poultry farm, the dog noticed it and jumped to rip it into pieces. Before dying in the 40-minute-long fight, 'Bheema' faced the snake with courage and cut it into 11 pieces.

2 dogs fight the snake
The video opened with the cobra surrounded by two dogs. The snake entered the farmhouse area of a person named Shamanth Gowda, when his dogs rushed for action. The pit bull, Bheema, and another dog ran into the farm to face the reptile and save its family from attack. The other dog was reportedly identified as Ruby, a female Doberman doggy who joined Bheema to fight the highly venomous creature.
12-ft-long cobra killed
After spotting the snake, the two dogs tried to maul it to death. During the fight, Bheema grabbed the 12-ft-long cobra in its mouth and cut it into pieces. The visuals showed the pit bull jumping and capturing the reptile in its mouth to kill it.

Dog dies after saving family from snake attack
It was learned the pit bull was injured during the attack after the snake bit Bheema around its nose. However, the dog continued to fight, until its last breath, which lasted for around 40 minutes. The dog died after ripping the cobra inside pieces, reported The Times of India.
The pit bull saved its family members and a few labourers at the poultry farm before its death.
The news media quoted the words of Gowda in its report, and read, "Fighting with snakes is not new for Bheema. He killed around 15 poisonous snakes in the plantation".
