After fighting COVID-19 in a hospital for several days in West Bengal's Howrah district, a doctor broke down into tears as she took her baby into her arms for the first time ever. The beautiful video of the mother and the baby has gone viral spreading smiles and hope amidst this gloomy pandemic.
As per an NDTV report, Dr Arfa Sajadin, 25, tested positive for the virus when she was 37-weeks into her pregnancy. Hence, sensing danger to her unborn baby, doctors conducted a Caesarean section delivery.
Three days after the delivery, Dr Sajadin's condition worsened and her oxygen levels dropped. She was then put on ventilator support. Meanwhile, the doctor had to stay away from newborn.
Fellow doctors showed the infant to her regularly over video calls, bringing some respite and hope to Dr Sajadin. And after 10 days of an intense, courageous battle against the deadly disease, she tackled the virus and came out free.
When the young doctor finally took her baby in her arms after all the struggle, she started crying out of love and happiness.
