People often test their partners and challenge each other to prove their love. In an unusual premarital test, a woman from China's Henan province asked her boyfriend to take up a childbirth simulation to understand the struggles mothers go through. However, the 'playful' act ended up hospitalising the man.
Couple visits labour pain simulation centre
The Chinese woman, whose identity remains anonymous, took her boyfriend to a labour pain simulation centre to help him understand the pain and suffering of a woman to embrace parenthood. She requested him to undergo a simulation before they married and engaged in family planning. Initially hesitant, he finally accepted the challenge to prove his love for the woman.
Man takes childbirth simulation
The simulation used electric currents to demonstrate the severe pain of uterine contractions. It stimulated the skin and muscles of the boyfriend to make him experience labour pain. While he took up the three-hour-long simulation believing it would demonstrate his commitment to his lady love, the challenge adversely impacted his health.
"Screaming, crying, and gasping for air"
The woman was quoted in local news media reports that her boyfriend's experience gradually shifted from boldness to desperation. “At level 8, he started screaming. By level 10, he was swearing, crying, and gasping for air,” she recounted.
Exhausted, puked...
After the simulation activity concluded, the man was drenched in sweat, exhausted, and began experiencing severe abdominal pain. He also puked experiencing discomfort and pain in his stomach.
Hospitalised
As the pain worsened, he was rushed to a hospital, only to lose a section of his small intestine. Doctors diagnosed him with significant damage to part of his small intestine, necessitating surgery.
The woman later expressed remorse, clarifying that neither she nor her family intended to cause him harm. “I just wanted him to understand the hardships that come with childbirth,” she explained.
