Triple Talaq Bill: It’s not a favour but right of women, says Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hailed the Triple Talaq Bill that was passed in Rajya Sabha on July 30. She said that the government had done what was long overdue. She also said that the government didn’t do any favour to Muslim women and that it’s the right of women who deserved to get it. The law criminalises a Muslim man to divorce his wife by uttering ‘talaq’ thrice.
