FP NEWS SERVICE Mumbai Model and aspiring singer Simran Sood and stockbroker Gautam Vora exchanged 1,700 mobile phone calls in the last three months, giving rise to speculation that there could be a love angle to the murder of Karan Kakka
d.
In fact, the Crime Branch has brought Vora, Simran and inspector Sanjay Shinde under the scanner and is probing whether they played a role in the twin murders of Arunkumar Tikku and Karankumar Kakkad, both originally from Delhi and residents of Lokhandwala.
Even though there are no leads with the Crime Branch that prove Vora and Shindes involvement, the sleuths believe that Simran was well aware of both the murder conspiracies.
According to a senior Crime Branch official, Simran was in a relationship with Vora since 2008- 2009.
Further, the fact that Simran was aware of the murder conspiracies and was in constant touch with Vora, exchanging over 1700 phone calls in the last two to three months, has led the Crime Branch to believe that Vora too might be aware of the conspiracies.
This suspicion of Crime Branch was further strengthened when they learnt that Vora was well acquainted with Dhananjay Shinde and Manoj Gajkosh, the other accused in the two murders and loyal accomplices of masterminded Vijay Palande. Palande is the main accused in the two double murders and had married Simran Sood in 1998 for using her as bait.
Vora was first questioned in the 2010 suicide case of his fiancée Viveka Babji.
However, a senior Crime Branch official said that it was too premature to say if Babjis case would be reopened.
