Two chain snatching incidents stir cops’ sleep

Ujjain : Two chain snatching incidents were reported in two police station areas on Monday. The chain snatching incidents stirred the sleep of city police.

In the first incident, two bike borne youths snatched away a gold chain of a woman near Maksi Road here on Monday. The incident took place at 10 am when the victim was returning to her home after visiting her family doctor. Two youths on a motorcycle appeared and the one riding pillion pulled the gold chain of Seema Garg, a resident of New Lakshmi Nagar. The gold chain robbed weighed around 15 grams, said the victim. A case has been registered at Madhav Nagar police station against unidentified accused.

The second chain snatching incident took place at Nanakheda police area on Monday evening. Police informed that victim Manju, 42, wife of Trilok Singhal, a resident of Tripti Vihar was strolling near her house when an unidentified miscreant robbed her gold chain. She cried for help, but the miscreant had escaped away from the scene. She lost her 12 gm gold chain.
