No VIP passes this time; mobiles not allowed
Ujjain : Top brass of Civil and Police administration including Collector Kavindra Kiyawat and SP MS Verma took stock of Shivratri preparations at Mahakaleshwar temple here on Saturday.
Both the official chiming in banned the use of mobile phones on Shivratri for officers and staff of civil and police department. They also said this time no VIP passes will be issued. A meeting to finalise the crowd management and darshan was also held after the physical inspection of temple premises by the officers.
Temple administrator RP Tiwari informed that the Darshan queues will start from Harsiddhi Chowk. He said the visitors and devotees will have to remove their footwear near entry gate, where cloth bags will provided to them, further the devotee will be issued token and the footwear will be taken for storage in the newly constructed facility, near exit. At the exit the devotees will be able to get back the items. For officers and media persons a drop gate has been constructed near Harsiddhi Chowk.
Police issuing the parking plan said Rudra Sagar will be used as the major parking ground for vehicles coming from Indore, Dewas and Maksi. Likewise, vehicles inbound from Barnagar Ratlam and Agar will have to park in Kartik mela ground. Other parking spots are Narsing Ghat, near Nutan Government School and near Harsiddhi temple. Routes toward Rudra Sagar parking from Harifatak junction, interpretation centre, Jantar Mantar Chowk, Jaisingpura, Gadha Puliya will remain one way on Shivratri.
The police have also requested the masses to not take vehicles in prohibited zones including, Teliwada Chowk, Kanthal Chowk, Daulatganj Chowk, Gopal mandir, Danigate chowk, Narsing Ghat, Fakir Mohalla and other nearby localities leading gullies toward Mahakal temple.
