The Thane Janata Sahakari Bank, known as the TJSB Sahkari Bank Ltd. had small beginnings for a financial institution in co- operative sector.
However the factors that saw a phenomenal growth of the bank during the years since inception tel
l a story of dynamic leadership, which was always proactive towards the current and most modern technology in order to put bank on a solid foundation.
The small beginning in 1972 with just one branch did not deter the dynamism of the board of directors.
This was complimented by the dedication of the staff to the goals of the bank and the resultant permanent loyalties accrued by the bank in their dealings with clientele. Today, the bank stands at the enviable status as No. 5 Bank in the sector.
The small beginnings would be now a sense of satisfaction as the balance sheet for the 1st Year had shown a profit of just Rs6,000. The same for the year 2010- 11 stands at a roaring 89.66 cr with an increase of 24.63 %. With the developments undertaken by TJSB for providing excellent services to their customers, it was but natural that the bank would be selected for coveted achievement awards.
1. The Indian Bank Association ( IAB) honored the bank with The Technology Bank of the year in co- operative category for the FY 2009.
2. For 2 consecutive years 2004- 05 and 2005- 06 the bank was awarded the 1st prize for the best co- operative Bank in Maharashtra by the Maharashtra State Urban Banks Federation Ltd.
3. First prize as alt145 P admabhushan Vasantdada Patil Utkarsha Nagri Shakari Bank for Kokan Region for two consecutive years.
4. TJSB was recognised amongst the top 5 co- op banks during the centenary celebrations of the co- operative movement. The IAB conferred alt145 Special Jury Awardalt39on the bank for outstanding achievements in banking technology for year 2007.
5. TJSB has been the coveted achiever of the alt145 anking Frontiers Awardalt39for e- security implementation and the alt145 Best Websitealt39in the category of big Co- operative Banks.
The bank has grown exponentially with achievements of growing global with local touch of personal relationship.
TJSB was the first Indian bank with justification to launch their new logo at the Mifta awards event in London.
The bank has made great moves by opening a new branch outside Maharashtra in Goa.
The latest awards that have come to TJSB, signify the achievements of bank in real terms.
The first of these was for the most techno savvy bank.
The second for Vidyadhar Vaishampayan, Chairman of TJSB. The award was as the best chairman of any Co- operative Bank.
